Assistant Editor – Academic Publishing (Belgrade)

About the role

MDPI is seeking an Assistant Editor to join its Belgrade office. You will work closely with researchers and editorial teams to ensure the smooth processing of manuscripts across a range of scientific disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Support the editorial workflow for journals within your area of expertise.
• Organise peer‑review evaluations and coordinate editorial decisions.
• Format manuscripts according to MDPI’s in‑house standards.
• Manage email communication between authors, reviewers and production staff.
• Collaborate with editorial and production teams to meet tight publication deadlines.

Required profile

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a relevant scientific field (Ph.D. preferred).
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Excellent attention to detail, multitasking and organisational abilities.
• Professional experience in scholarly publishing is an advantage but not mandatory.
