Public Service Editor

About the role

MDPI is seeking a highly organized Public Service Editor to support the editorial workflow of its academic research publications, including the Encyclopedia journal, Preprints.org, and conference proceedings. The role is ideal for candidates passionate about scholarly publishing and capable of coordinating multiple editorial tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the peer‑review process for submitted manuscripts and coordinate editorial decisions.
• Facilitate email communication among authors, reviewers, and internal teams.
• Collaborate with editorial, conference, and production teams to ensure smooth workflow across projects.
• Perform editorial tasks for various platforms, ensuring manuscripts meet in‑house formatting standards and deadlines.
• Maintain high editorial quality and consistency across all published materials.

Required profile

• MSc degree in a natural science, technology, medicine, engineering, or mathematics‑related discipline.
• Strong written and spoken English proficiency.
• Excellent multitasking, attention to detail, and time‑management abilities.
• Growth‑oriented mindset with good communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
