Staff Software Engineer in Test – Mapping & Infotainment

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer in Test to lead the quality assurance function for our Mapping and Infotainment systems at Rivian‑Volkswagen Technologies in Belgrade. You will own the end‑to‑end test strategy, from framework design through CI/CD integration and on‑vehicle validation, working closely with global teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the test strategy for Mapping and Location‑Based Services, including map data pipelines, routing, navigation and location APIs.
• Design, build and maintain Python‑based automation frameworks (e.g., Pytest suites, log parsers, dashboards) for bench and vehicle testing.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins or similar tools.
• Promote a shift‑left approach, balancing manual, exploratory, unit, integration and system testing to catch defects early.
• Collaborate with site leaders, partner teams in Belgrade and global stakeholders in North America to align priorities and ensure product quality.
• Scale testing infrastructure to support current and future vehicle platforms.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading QA initiatives for complex software systems, preferably in the automotive domain.
• Strong sense of ownership and ability to act as the primary bridge between regional teams.
• Passion for rigorously stress‑testing products before release.
