Director of Sales

About the role

Nine Dragons Paper, the world’s largest pulp and paper manufacturer, is seeking a Director of Sales to lead its European sales efforts. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the role will be based in Western Europe and focus on folding boxboard, high‑bulk grades and printing & writing paper sold to printers, brokers and end‑users. The successful candidate will drive revenue growth while ensuring profitability and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop key accounts throughout Europe for folding boxboard, printing & writing paper and other specialty papers.
• Develop strategic accounts and achieve defined sales objectives.
• Create a 12‑month rolling forecast for assigned customers and prospects.
• Build long‑term relationships with key contacts, acting as the “last look” for existing and future business.
• Position Nine Dragons as the preferred solution provider in the region.
• Advocate for customers while protecting the company’s reputation and goodwill.
• Provide market insight to support the SVP’s sales and marketing strategies.
• Maintain ongoing relationships with existing business accounts.
• Communicate issues, concerns and achievements to the direct supervisor.
• Support production planners to optimise schedules.
• Assist the credit team with problematic collection activities.
• Contribute to product development initiatives.
• Help the distribution function manage customer expectations to optimise freight and manufacturing costs.
• Travel up to 60% across the assigned territory to meet current and prospective customers.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience selling folding boxboard or related paper products.
• Proven track record of achieving sales goals.
• Strong business acumen and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Fluent English communication; Chinese is a plus.
