About the role

Proton System d.o.o., a leading pharmaceutical company operating in Serbia, the region and international markets, is seeking a Finance Director (CFO) to join the Executive Team. The role carries full responsibility for the finance function and offers the chance to shape the company’s growth strategy and financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the company’s financial strategy aligned with long‑term business goals.
• Provide financial insights to the Executive Team and influence key business decisions.
• Lead all finance activities: planning & analysis, controlling, accounting, tax, and reporting.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, long‑term planning and managerial reporting.
• Analyze profitability by product, sales channel, business unit and market.
• Improve cash flow, liquidity, working capital, cost control and return on investment.
• Assess pricing, investment projects, expansion opportunities and strategic partnerships.
• Establish robust corporate governance, internal controls and risk management in full regulatory compliance.
• Develop relationships with banks, auditors and other financial partners.
• Drive modernization of financial processes, ERP, analytics and automation.
• Manage and develop the existing finance team, set performance targets and plan succession for key roles.

Required profile

• University degree in finance, economics, business administration or a related field.
• Minimum 12 years of finance experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role with full P&L responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of financial planning, controlling, accounting, tax, reporting and corporate governance.
• Proven experience in investment evaluation, business case development and supporting expansion or transformation projects.
