Field Service Quality Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Field Service Quality Engineer to join Voith Hydro’s international team. The engineer will ensure that quality standards are consistently achieved during the installation and commissioning phases of hydropower projects across the EMEA region and other international sites.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement project‑specific quality strategies and perform quality risk assessments.
• Review customer specifications and create site‑specific Quality Plans.
• Provide quality support for critical installation processes such as welding, non‑destructive testing, corrosion protection, site machining, mechanical erection and 3D measurements.
• Participate in design reviews, site quality meetings, inspection planning and test‑plan development.
• Conduct audits, apply A3 problem‑solving, capture lessons learned and drive continuous‑improvement activities.
• Review, approve and maintain project‑specific Quality Data Books.
• Coordinate inspections and manage quality documentation within company IT systems.
• Support international field service teams both remotely and on‑site.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve quality‑related issues and ensure project compliance.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Materials Engineering or equivalent technical education.
• Previous experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance or a related technical field.
• Professional working proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
