Financial Controller – Remote (Russian speaker)

About the role

We are an AI‑driven startup building speech‑to‑text, text‑to‑speech and language model products used by hundreds of thousands worldwide. We seek an experienced Financial Controller to own and evolve all finance functions in a fast‑growing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver timely monthly close, management reporting (P&L, cash flow, balance sheet) and automate reporting processes.
• Maintain and update the company’s financial model for internal planning, budget preparation and variance analysis.
• Oversee accounting and compliance across multiple jurisdictions (including the US), acting as the single point of contact for external accountants and tax advisors.
• Manage mandatory filings, deadlines and quality control of external consultants.
• Handle vendor payments, contractor settlements and overall financial operations.
• Drive further automation of all finance processes, leveraging AI tools where possible.

Required profile

• 5+ years of finance and accounting experience, including full‑cycle month‑end close.
• Proven ability to build or redesign finance processes in a startup or small‑company setting.
• Comfortable working in a chaotic, fast‑moving environment with no pre‑existing procedures.
• Experience with multi‑jurisdictional, multi‑currency accounting.
• Hands‑on experience coordinating external accountants and tax consultants.
• Fluent English and strong technical aptitude for data and systems.
• Practical experience using AI tools and a desire to apply AI to finance automation.
