Financial & Sustainability Auditor – Associate

About the role

Join PwC’s Financial and Sustainability Assurance team as an Associate, supporting leading European companies in meeting both financial and ESG reporting standards. This role blends traditional audit work with sustainability assurance, giving you exposure to a range of sectors such as technology, renewable energy, healthcare, and finance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct financial and sustainability audits, ensuring compliance with relevant reporting frameworks.
• Develop expertise in ESG standards, map dependencies, identify bottlenecks, and escalate issues to clients.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed sustainability assurance within financial audit engagements.
• Assist non‑audit clients in designing templates, policies, and controls for sustainability reporting.
• Analyse carbon emissions, climate risks, safety incidents and deliver actionable insights.
• Stay current with emerging sustainability research and regulatory developments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field (or final‑year studies with graduation expected soon).
• Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Strong communication, analytical and project‑management abilities.
• Adaptability to a fast‑changing regulatory landscape and a willingness to learn continuously.
• Genuine interest in sustainability, ESG topics and their business impact.
