Head of Procurement

About the role

Scania East Adriatic Region is seeking an experienced Head of Procurement to shape and execute the region’s procurement strategy. You will lead sourcing activities, manage key supplier relationships, and drive cost‑saving initiatives while ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a procurement strategy that supports overall business goals.
• Lead purchasing and sourcing operations, ensuring robust processes and governance.
• Create and maintain a comprehensive procurement plan.
• Manage relationships with strategic suppliers and drive sourcing initiatives.
• Monitor market trends, conduct cost analyses, benchmark, and identify savings opportunities.
• Lead, motivate and develop the Procurement team.
• Define, track and report on KPIs, business results and improvement activities.
• Ensure compliance with Scania policies, procedures and Scania Way principles.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing or a related business area.
• Strong leadership and people‑management experience, preferably in a B2B or industrial environment.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and analytical abilities.
• Proven experience managing internal and external stakeholders.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• High integrity, result orientation and ability to lead change.
• International work experience is an advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the D365 system.
