Junior Mechanical Engineer – Sustainable Building Systems

About the role

Arup is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to design innovative and sustainable mechanical systems for a variety of iconic buildings. You will join multidisciplinary teams across our global network, working on projects that span commercial, residential, hospitality, data centre and educational sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop HVAC, fire protection and plumbing systems for diverse building types.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports, drawings and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers and other specialists to deliver integrated solutions.
• Support senior engineers in project coordination and delivery, ensuring quality and technical excellence.
• Contribute to low‑carbon and sustainable design approaches.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technologies).
• 3‑5 years of experience in design, calculation, sizing and specification of HVAC, fire or plumbing systems for complex projects.
• Basic knowledge of Revit.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multicultural, international environments.
• Fluency in English (C1 level).
