QA Specialist

About the role

Ruby Labs is scaling multiple direct‑to‑consumer subscription products across health, education and entertainment. We are looking for a mid‑level QA Specialist who will own product quality, work closely with engineers and product managers, and ensure every release meets high standards. The role blends manual exploratory testing with automated test development.

Key responsibilities

• Test web applications and native Android/iOS apps, designing comprehensive test plans using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Perform exploratory and risk‑based testing to uncover issues beyond scripted tests.
• Investigate customer complaints, reproduce issues, and determine root causes before escalation.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and enforce quality gates on every merge.
• Validate backend APIs with Postman and verify data integrity using SQL queries on PostgreSQL.
• Document bugs with clear reproduction steps, environment details, logs and screenshots.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on QA experience in a product or SaaS environment.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to work remotely in a fast‑paced setting.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Playwright
• TypeScript
• Postman (or equivalent API testing tool)
• SQL for data validation (PostgreSQL)
• CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred)
• Monitoring tools such as Sentry or Better Stack
• Performance/load testing tools (k6, Locust)
