Learning and Development Lead

About the role

JetBrains is seeking a Learning and Development Lead to own and grow two strategic learning portfolios – Core and Discovery. The role bridges high‑level L&D strategy with day‑to‑day team needs, turning ambiguous requests into practical, business‑aligned learning solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the L&D team, guiding owners to prioritize goals, make decisions and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Partner with department heads, HR, Compensation & Benefits, and Analytics to translate loosely defined needs into clear development objectives and delivery plans.
• Design and maintain decision‑making frameworks for high‑cost learning investments.
• Use data, surveys and business signals to evaluate learning impact and adjust portfolio priorities.
• Facilitate alignment across stakeholders when priorities or expected outcomes are unclear.

Required profile

• Strong focus on outcomes and impact rather than checklist‑driven L&D.
• Comfort navigating uncertainty and helping teams move forward through ambiguity.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to connect across diverse, global teams.
• Curiosity about AI tools and automation in learning and leadership development.
• Preference for clear ownership and explicit accountability.
