About the role
Rivian is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to own the reliability and performance of its internal developer platforms. You will build self‑service tools, apply SRE principles, and ensure that engineering teams can deploy, scale, and monitor services with minimal friction.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct blameless post‑mortems and define SLIs/SLOs to improve system health.
- Implement comprehensive logging, tracing, and metrics using Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog.
- Act as a technical lead, mentoring junior engineers and championing cloud‑native best practices.
- Automate repetitive tasks to reduce toil and increase developer productivity.
Required profile
- 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Systems Engineering.
- Deep expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Strong programming skills in Go, Python, or Rust.
- Mastery of Docker and Kubernetes ecosystems, including Helm and Istio.
- Product‑first mindset focused on developer experience as well as uptime.
