Accountant – Import/Export & General Ledger

About the role

STIHL is seeking an experienced Accountant to support its growing operations in the Adria region. You will be responsible for handling import/export documentation, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and process import and export documentation, including customs clearance orders.
• Record and post import transactions, maintain master data (tariff codes, countries of origin) and update inventory.
• Verify goods receipts from domestic suppliers and coordinate with warehouse teams on logistics documentation.
• Manage documentation and processes within the SEF system.
• Review, prepare and post employee travel and expense reports.
• Prepare payment orders using e‑banking systems.
• Reconcile balances with suppliers and customers, analyse open items and outstanding receivables.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts with sub‑ledgers (customers, suppliers, inventory, fixed assets).
• Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities.
• Cooperate with external partners such as auditors, consultants and accounting providers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or secondary education in Economics, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, including import/export processes.
• Intermediate or higher proficiency in English.
• Experience with Navision and SAP is an advantage.
• Previous experience in an international company is preferred.
