Category Buyer

About the role

As a Category Buyer you will support Grundfos’s mission to deliver sustainable water solutions by managing key base‑materials categories. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to drive cost, quality and supply‑security improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Support Category Managers in executing category strategies aligned with business objectives and total cost of ownership targets.
• Lead negotiations on pricing, contracts, quality and delivery terms to secure optimal value.
• Manage supplier relationships, conduct performance reviews and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with product development, quality, supply chain and production teams to align sourcing with product requirements and new product introductions.
• Analyze spend data, monitor market dynamics and identify opportunities for consolidation and risk mitigation.
• Support sustainable procurement by evaluating suppliers against environmental and social responsibility criteria.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in strategic purchasing, category management or sourcing within a global manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of delivering cost savings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Experience using data analysis tools for spend analysis.
