Contracts and Budgets Manager

About the role

The Contracts and Budgets Manager leads the day‑to‑day execution of commercial contracting for clinical trial studies, overseeing contract review, negotiation support and budget management. The role ensures agreements are processed accurately, efficiently and in line with company policies while partnering with Sales, Legal, Finance and Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end execution of customer contracts, amendments and renewals, ensuring compliance with policies and service level agreements.
• Enforce contract policies, approval requirements and standard terms, working with Legal to apply contract playbooks and mitigate risk.
• Continuously improve contracting workflows to reduce cycle time, standardize intake and approval processes, and report on operational metrics.
• Manage the operational use of contract management tools (CLM, CRM integrations), maintain templates and documentation, and ensure data accuracy.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of contract analysts or managers, set priorities, manage workload and support career progression.
• Serve as the primary operational partner to Sales, Legal, Finance and Operations, providing guidance on processes, timelines and risk insights.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in the CRO industry focusing on contracts and budgets, including work orders and change orders.
• 2+ years of people management or team leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of contract policies, risk management and commercial frameworks.

Required skills

• Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools.
• Familiarity with CRM integrations.
