Corporate Controller

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on accounting leader to own the accounting function as it moves from an outsourced model to an internal operation. This builder‑focused role will manage the full accounting cycle, establish scalable processes, and act as a strong financial partner to leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Own month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close across general ledger, AP, AR, and payroll.
• Manage multi‑entity accounting, including intercompany transactions, allocations, and entity‑level reporting.
• Prepare accurate, GAAP‑compliant financial statements and reporting packages.
• Research and document technical accounting matters such as revenue recognition.
• Lead the transition from an outsourced accounting provider to an internal function.
• Develop and document accounting policies, internal controls, and repeatable procedures.
• Oversee cash visibility, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes.
• Partner with finance and executive leadership on reporting, analysis, and accounting decisions.
• Lead improvements to the accounting technology stack, including migration from QuickBooks Online to a multi‑entity ERP.
• Redesign the chart of accounts to support consolidated and entity‑level reporting.
• Identify opportunities to use automation and AI tools to improve efficiency.
• Help build the accounting organization over time, including hiring and managing team members.

Required profile

• 8–12 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including 3+ years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager role.
• CPA or equivalent recognized accounting certification.
• Strong command of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and multi‑entity accounting.
• Demonstrated experience establishing or significantly improving an accounting function.
• Advanced experience with QuickBooks Online and platform upgrades.
• Experience with NetSuite or another enterprise‑level ERP (preferred).
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
