Data Steward – Purchasing Department

About the role

The Data Steward will join the Purchasing Department to ensure that product and supplier master data is accurate, consistent, and up‑to‑date across all systems. You will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to support Hornbach’s market entry in Serbia.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire, maintain, and validate supplier data.
• Create and list product and pricing information according to quality standards.
• Ensure master data consistency across SAP, PIM/MDM and other systems.
• Analyse data discrepancies, initiate corrective actions and track their resolution.
• Produce documentation and provide daily support for data handling teams.
• Coordinate alignment between Procurement, Supply Chain, IT and other stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement of master‑data management processes.
• Serve as the central contact point for suppliers and internal data owners.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in master data management.
• Fluency in English and Serbian; German is a plus.
• Strong analytical mindset with a structured working approach.
• Excellent communication skills for an international environment.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with SAP.
• Experience with PIM/MDM or similar master‑data platforms.
• Advanced Excel skills.
