Database Reliability Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Database Reliability Engineer to own production PostgreSQL reliability and support our broader database estate, including ClickHouse, MongoDB, and Redis. This is a hands‑on, production‑ownership position focused on automation, incident response, and reducing single‑person dependencies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and operate highly‑available PostgreSQL clusters (Patroni, PgBouncer, replication, failover, upgrades, backup, PITR, and restore validation).
• Improve disaster‑recovery processes with documented runbooks, measurable RTO/RPO targets, and regular restore testing.
• Troubleshoot incidents across PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, MongoDB, and Redis, and enhance monitoring and observability.
• Automate DBA workflows using Ansible, Terraform/OpenTofu, GitLab CI/CD, and scripts to provide self‑service DBaaS capabilities.
• Develop Grafana dashboards, SLOs, alert rules, and Opsgenie routing for reliable incident response.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on PostgreSQL experience in business‑critical production environments.
• Strong understanding of PostgreSQL internals, HA design, replication, backup, and recovery.
• Solid Linux and infrastructure knowledge (systemd, networking, storage, performance tuning).
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and scripting, plus familiarity with Terraform/OpenTofu and GitLab CI/CD.
• Ability to quickly learn and operate ClickHouse and other database engines.
