Design Lead

About the role

Billups is looking for a Design Lead to own end‑to‑end design across its digital product ecosystem. The role blends high‑level user experience strategy, complex technical architecture, and refined visual execution.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full design process from wire‑framing and user‑flow optimisation to high‑fidelity UI prototyping.
• Build and maintain scalable UI libraries and design systems that ensure consistency across all digital touchpoints.
• Translate complex business requirements into intuitive, innovative, and aesthetically superior interfaces.
• Ensure digital products reflect Billups’ brand visual identity, applying traditional design excellence to the digital space.
• Act as the bridge between strategy, creative, and engineering teams to guarantee technical feasibility without compromising design integrity.

Required profile

• Innovator and problem‑solver who can articulate strategic design decisions and translate them into final products.
• Deep experience building and scaling component libraries and design systems, with clear rationale backed by UX principles and business goals.
• Strong communicator capable of presenting design decisions to stakeholders, focusing on brand equity and user retention.
• Exceptional portfolio demonstrating sophisticated typography, composition, colour, and visual hierarchy.
• Experience in agency environments or design‑led tech companies is preferred.

Required skills

• Expert proficiency in Figma (advanced prototyping, variables, auto‑layout).
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Familiarity with Framer or similar prototyping tools.
• Understanding of front‑end constraints (HTML, CSS, React) and ability to hand off pixel‑perfect assets.
