Expo & Events Logistics Specialist – German Dispatch Support

About the role

Join the Expo & Events Logistics team at Kuehne+Nagel and take ownership of end‑to‑end road transport operations across Europe. You will coordinate shipments from the first request through quotation, execution, documentation, invoicing and final closure, supporting internal Expo & Events teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full road transport process across Europe, from quotation to delivery, invoicing and shipment closure.
• Work directly with internal Expo & Events teams to understand requirements, clarify shipment details and design suitable transport solutions.
• Source capacity, request and compare quotations, negotiate rates and appoint carriers or subcontractors based on service, cost and reliability.
• Prepare transport quotations and orders, coordinate collections and deliveries, and keep all parties informed throughout the shipment.
• Monitor transports, respond quickly to changes or disruptions, and implement practical solutions to keep time‑sensitive shipments on track.
• Ensure shipment data, transport documents, supplier costs and customer charges are complete and accurate in Kuehne+Nagel systems.
• Check supplier invoices, prepare customer billing and close shipments accurately and on time.
• Build trusted relationships with internal teams, carriers and transport partners, acting as the primary point of contact for European road transport.

Required profile

• High school diploma; further education in logistics or transport is a plus.
• Very good written and spoken English; additional European language is advantageous.
• Experience in European road transport, freight forwarding, dispatch or a similar operational role.
• Practical experience with carrier sourcing, rate negotiation, quotation preparation and transport planning.
• Understanding of the full shipment life‑cycle, including documentation, cost control, invoice checking and billing.
• Ability to manage several time‑sensitive shipments simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented attitude with strong ownership from start to finish.
• Clear, professional communication skills with a focus on internal customer service.

Required skills

• Good MS Office skills.
