Financial Accounting Associate - Compensation Accounting

About the role

BlackRock is looking for a Compensation Accounting Associate to join its Compensation Accounting team in Belgrade (within the Belgrade/Edinburgh hub). The team records all compensation and benefits expenses in BlackRock's financial records, which make up around 50% of its cost base. The role involves regular interaction with finance teams globally and with internal stakeholders such as HR Payroll, Legal Entity Controllers, FP&A and external auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compensation expense is recorded correctly in line with GAAP.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and certify the balance sheet.
• Prepare and present monthly commentary to stakeholders on P&L and balance sheet movements.
• Build working relationships with Payroll, Human Resources, legal entity controllers and tax.
• Assist with project deliverables for new payroll systems and the new Oracle general ledger.
• Carry out other ad hoc duties and monthly tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• CA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• At least 5 years of experience in an accounting-related role.
• Prior experience in financial services or a large listed company is preferable.
• Prior experience liaising with other groups and teams, including external auditors.
• Strong Excel and data manipulation skills.
