Founding AI Voice Engineer

About the role

We are building a voice‑first AI companion that provides mental‑health support and personal‑development guidance 24/7. As a Founding AI Voice Engineer you will own the end‑to‑end technology stack, turning a prototype into a production‑ready, scalable service.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and ship iOS and Android applications with real‑time voice‑to‑voice interaction.
• Build and integrate speech‑to‑text, large language model, and text‑to‑speech pipelines for affective full‑duplex dialogue.
• Create retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), memory and context systems to sustain long, dynamic conversations.
• Implement safety guardrails, psychological framework translation, and evaluation/monitoring infrastructure.
• Own backend infrastructure, optimize latency, quality, reliability and inference cost, and manage deployment at scale.

Required profile

• Proven experience building real‑time speech‑to‑speech or voice‑to‑voice AI agents deployed in production.
• Hands‑on work with STT, LLM and TTS pipelines or native speech‑to‑speech models.
• Demonstrated ability to solve latency, turn‑taking and streaming challenges in live voice systems.
• Experience with LLM orchestration, RAG, memory and context management, and end‑to‑end system reliability.
• Self‑directed, fast‑moving, and comfortable taking full ownership in an early‑stage environment.
