Hardware and Electrical Designer

About the role

We are seeking a Hardware and Electrical Designer to create benchmark environments around boards or electrical systems you have designed or debugged. The work supports an AI company measuring model performance on real embedded engineering problems.

Key responsibilities

• Provide schematics, layout excerpts, Gerbers, BOM, component datasheets, measurement data and design constraints.
• Supply measurement data files such as scope captures, thermal tables and EMC scans, with supporting images.
• Set up required tools (e.g., ngspice, KiCad, Python, PDF utilities) and write five or more task scenarios based on design decisions or failures.
• Frame each task so the model runs calculations or simulations and outputs a JSON answer with corrected components and computed margins.
• Develop a hidden marking script to evaluate answers against tolerances and run supplied SPICE netlists.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience designing or debugging boards or electrical systems.
• Strong command of component selection, datasheet limits, temperature, ripple and current derating.
• Experience with power‑supply stability, phase‑margin and thermal analysis.
• Working knowledge of EMC and conducted‑emissions measurement.
• Ability to work from schematics, layout files or Gerbers and BOMs.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ngspice or another SPICE simulator.
• Experience using KiCad for schematic and layout work.
• Python programming for automated marking scripts.
