Java Engineer (Mid/Senior)

About the role

Avenga is building a Java Talent Pool and is looking for experienced Java Engineers at mid and senior levels. Even if there is no immediate opening, qualified candidates will be considered for future projects across our global client base.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in user‑story creation and sprint planning.
• Translate functional and architectural requirements into clean, production‑ready code.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure quality.
• Troubleshoot production issues and maintain application stability.
• Follow project‑specific development guidelines and industry best practices.
• Collaborate closely with developers, architects, and project leads.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor less‑experienced team members.

Required profile

• 3+ years of Java development experience for intermediate level or 5+ years for senior level.
• Proficiency with Java 8+, lambda expressions and Stream API.
• Hands‑on experience with Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, REST, Docker, Docker Compose, Maven, JUnit, Mockito and Git.
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
