Legal Associate

About the role

Huawei is seeking a Legal Associate to join its Belgrade office. The role involves ensuring compliance with local regulations, supporting corporate governance, and providing legal advice across multiple business units. You will work closely with the General Counsel and external counsel on a variety of legal matters.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure compliance with Serbian laws and Huawei internal policies.
• Prepare corporate governance documents such as board and shareholders’ resolutions and manage company registry formalities.
• Provide legal support and advice to various departments.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including sales, service, partner, vendor agreements, NDAs, DPAs, MOUs, SOWs, and SLAs.
• Review general terms of business, privacy policies, product pages, warranty policies, and finance documents for legal compliance.
• Offer daily advisory on employment law matters.
• Research industry‑specific regulations (telecom, IPR, contract, criminal, employment, immigration, consumer protection, privacy, cybersecurity, EU law) and assist in implementing compliance measures.
• Co‑operate with external counsel on specialized legal issues.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and report to the General Counsel.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of in‑house legal experience or experience at a law firm.
• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree.
• Solid background in commercial law and general civil law.
• Excellent written and spoken English for drafting and reviewing contracts.
• Ability to work across different departments and report to management.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills combined with a good business sense.
