About the role

The Medical Affairs Head for Serbia and Montenegro will lead the local Medical Affairs function, shaping and executing the medical strategy in line with global, regional and local priorities. The role ensures scientific excellence, launch readiness, evidence generation and compliant engagement with healthcare stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Medical Affairs strategy for Serbia and Montenegro, translating scientific and market insights into clear priorities.
• Support launch preparedness, reimbursement negotiations and patient‑access initiatives with medical input.
• Ensure high standards of scientific excellence, drive evidence generation, real‑world evidence studies and collaborative research.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with HCPs, investigators, patient associations, academic societies, regulators and other stakeholders.
• Lead scientific exchange, disease‑awareness and educational activities in compliance with policies and regulations.
• Act as the key medical partner to cross‑functional teams, promoting a collaborative ONE Team approach.
• Recruit, train, coach and retain a high‑performing Medical Affairs team, managing resources and budget.
• Guarantee compliance with laws, industry codes, Novartis policies, pharmacovigilance and quality requirements.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in Medical Affairs or a related scientific function.
• Deep understanding of the Serbian and Montenegrin healthcare systems and market dynamics.
• Strong track record of evidence generation, real‑world data projects and clinical trial support.
• Excellent stakeholder‑engagement skills with HCPs, regulators and patient groups.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with commercial, regulatory, access, safety and development teams.
