Purchasing Operator

About the role

The Purchasing Operator ensures that material requests are processed efficiently, complying with internal procurement rules and delivering cost‑effective supplies on time. This role works closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to maintain a smooth flow of goods through the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase requests according to defined thresholds, adding required data such as commodity codes and Incoterms.
• Analyse material availability and manage purchase orders, including tracking and content verification.
• Ensure compliance with Siemens procurement policies and the use of approved contract partners via click4suppliers and FPL tools.
• Maintain and update supplier master data in SAP in coordination with Regional Procurement.
• Archive procurement documents according to local regulations to keep the database accurate.
• Identify and generate savings opportunities and communicate results transparently.
• Share relevant procurement project information (e.g., contractual updates, supplier management data) with all project participants.

Required profile

• Good understanding of procurement processes and compliance requirements.
• Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Familiarity with commodity codes, Incoterms and supplier management.
• Ability to analyse material availability and manage purchase orders end‑to‑end.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers.
