SAP BASIS Linux Administrator – L2 Support (3‑Shift)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Linux Administrator to support SUSE Linux Enterprise Server environments across development, test, and production systems. The role combines operational support, system administration, incident resolution, infrastructure integration, and continuous improvement within a 24 × 7 three‑shift model.

Key responsibilities

• Provide L2 operational support for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server environments across development, test, and production.
• Monitor Linux servers proactively to ensure high availability, performance and capacity.
• Respond to incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs and perform advanced command‑line troubleshooting.
• Manage OS patching, updates, upgrades and perform technical changes following change‑management processes.
• Administer clustering solutions such as Pacemaker for high‑availability and failover.
• Support virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V, Azure VMs) and administer Linux virtual machines.
• Coordinate backup and restoration activities and validate job completions.
• Document incidents, run‑books, and knowledge‑base articles and contribute to automation using shell scripting.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience administering SUSE Linux Enterprise Server in development, test and production environments.
• Strong command‑line administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of Linux security, user/group management, file systems, storage and package management (Zypper, YaST).
• Experience with high‑availability clustering (Pacemaker) and virtualization platforms.
• Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or SPC.
• Ability to work in a 24 × 7 rotating three‑shift schedule.
