Senior Accountant (Accounts Payable)

About the role

Belgrade Waterfront is seeking a Senior Accountant focused on Accounts Payable to join its finance team. The role will ensure accurate bookkeeping of all financial transactions, including construction‑related interim payment certificates, and support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Record incoming documentation and transactions promptly and accurately.
• Book interim payment certificates for construction projects and apply correct VAT treatment.
• Assist in month‑end and year‑end close processes, including trial‑balance reviews and account reconciliations.
• Communicate with suppliers to confirm open items and obtain proper documentation.
• Prepare payment orders, process payments via e‑banking, and perform occasional bank reconciliations.
• Support tax reporting and compliance activities.
• Produce reports for management and shareholders.
• Assist internal and external auditors and ensure adherence to finance policies.
• Identify and recommend improvements to procedures and IT solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of proven experience in accounting and finance.
• Knowledge of local and international finance legislation.
• Experience with construction‑related interim payment certificates and VAT treatment is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience using major ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
