Senior Accountant

About the role

We are hiring a Senior Accountant to own and execute local accounting and statutory finance activities for HAVI Serbia. The position plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, timely closing, compliant statutory and tax reporting, and smooth cooperation with auditors, vendors, authorities, and HAVI’s Global Finance Hub (SSC). The position is based in Ugrinovci, Belgrade, Serbia.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting activities and ensure accurate, complete, high‑quality financial records.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures in line with Group standards and Serbian legislation.
• Prepare financial statements according to National Accounting Standards.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, annual tax declarations, statutory reports and other regulatory filings.
• Manage local treasury activities including liquidity planning, payments, collections and bank relationships.
• Maintain compliance with applicable accounting, tax and regulatory requirements.
• Support annual financial audits and act as the main contact for external auditors and tax authorities.
• Monitor legislative changes and contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls.
• Liaise with local authorities, including e‑faktura and e‑bolovanje.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting and reporting experience in Serbia with strong knowledge of local accounting standards and tax legislation.
• Solid experience with full‑cycle accounting, VAT, statutory reporting, audits and month‑end/year‑end closing activities.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems; SAP experience is an advantage.
• Fluent in Serbian and English, both written and spoken.
• Accurate, reliable, detail‑oriented professional with strong integrity and a team‑oriented mindset.
