Senior Android Engineer

About the role

SMG Swiss Marketplace Group is looking for a Senior Android Engineer to help shape the future of its Tutti and Anibis mobile applications. You will join an international, fast‑moving team that values ownership, high quality code, and continuous learning.

Key responsibilities

• Build Android features end‑to‑end, from technical design through production.
• Contribute to mobile product development on Android and collaborate with iOS teams.
• Shape architecture decisions around data layers, state management, modularisation and platform patterns.
• Participate in thorough code reviews, giving and receiving constructive feedback.
• Work closely with Product, Design, Backend and other engineering teams.
• Drive the ongoing migration to Jetpack Compose and improve app performance and maintainability.
• Share knowledge through technical discussions and best‑practice sharing.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience building production Android apps with Kotlin.
• Hands‑on experience with Jetpack Compose and shipped features.
• Strong understanding of clean architecture and data‑layer design.
• Experience with Kotlin Coroutines, Flows, REST APIs and backend‑for‑frontend patterns.
• Ability to clearly explain design decisions in code reviews and discussions.
• Pragmatic balance of code quality, maintainability and delivery speed.
• Good English communication skills.
