Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a US‑based health technology company. The position is fully remote and open to candidates located in Europe, with an expectation of some working‑hour overlap with the US team. You will own the end‑to‑end cloud infrastructure, supporting a small engineering group across Kubernetes, GCP, AWS, and several managed services.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and scale a GKE Kubernetes cluster on Google Cloud, using Terraform for all provisioning.
• Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure including VPC, networking, compute, storage, and IAM.
• Implement private connectivity between AWS, Vercel, and Altinity ClickHouse (VPC peering, PrivateLink, VPN, etc.).
• Define and enforce infrastructure‑as‑code standards, Terraform module design, state management, and code review processes.
• Configure and manage Datadog logging pipelines, dashboards, and alerting across services.
• Collaborate closely with a small engineering team, communicating infrastructure decisions clearly to non‑DevOps engineers.

Required profile

• Strong ownership mentality and ability to work independently with high autonomy.
• Excellent English speaking and writing skills.
• Comfortable operating in a small‑team environment without heavy process overhead.

Required skills

• Kubernetes (GKE) production experience.
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) expertise.
• Terraform for infrastructure‑as‑code.
• AWS infrastructure (VPC design, networking, IAM, core services).
• Private connectivity technologies (PrivateLink, VPC peering, VPN).
• Networking fundamentals: subnetting, routing, firewall/security groups, DNS.
• Datadog logging, monitoring, dashboards, and alerting.
• Familiarity with multi‑cloud environments (GCP + AWS).
• Optional but valued: Typescript/React, ClickHouse administration, Vercel deployment configuration.
