Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

Better Collective is looking for a seasoned Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the design, optimisation and maintenance of its high‑performance, secure cloud ecosystem. The role supports a portfolio of sports‑focused web applications and digital products, ensuring reliable continuous integration and delivery for developer teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, secure and scale AWS cloud environments.
• Provision infrastructure as code using Terraform and configure it with Ansible.
• Deploy and operate containerised applications on Docker, AWS ECS or AWS EKS.
• Build and debug serverless workloads with AWS Lambda and Cloudflare Workers.
• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines exclusively via GitHub Actions.
• Configure content delivery, caching and routing using Cloudflare and AWS CloudFront.
• Monitor infrastructure health and set up alerts with Checkmk, Prometheus or Grafana.
• Manage networking components such as VPCs, firewalls and routing.
• Troubleshoot environment issues for Node.js, PHP and WordPress applications.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in SRE, Platform Engineering or DevOps managing complex AWS setups.
• Practical understanding of AI concepts and workflows to support modern platform operations.
• Goal‑focused mindset with the ability to bridge traditional operations and next‑generation paradigms.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and capacity to eliminate infrastructure silos.
