Senior Geotechnical Engineer

About the role

Mott MacDonald’s Energy unit is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join its award‑winning civil team in Belgrade. The role supports a portfolio of projects across transmission, thermal, renewable and nuclear sectors, providing geotechnical expertise from concept through to design and construction.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct desk studies, preliminary assessments and reviews of existing geotechnical reports.
• Manage investigation contractors on‑site and in‑office, including review of RAMs and health‑and‑safety compliance.
• Administer ground‑investigation contracts, prepare scopes and specifications, and verify investigation data for ground modelling.
• Prepare Geotechnical Interpretative and Design Reports.
• Perform geotechnical analysis using ground‑modelling and analysis software.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers to integrate geotechnical assessments into overall project delivery.
• Identify and assess geotechnical risks, communicating appropriate mitigation solutions.
• Respond to technical queries and support proposal development and client tender packages.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status (ICE or equivalent).
• Demonstrable experience in senior geotechnical roles within the energy or infrastructure sector.
