Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Rho is building a modern finance platform that lets businesses manage banking, cards, expenses, bill pay, and accounting in one place. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design and scale new financial products, turning ambiguous opportunities into production‑grade systems. This high‑ownership role focuses on critical financial workflows and regulated, customer‑facing services.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end projects, including accounting integrations with NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Xero, and Puzzle.
• Build reliable, scalable backend services that power core accounting and financial workflows.
• Translate ambiguous product problems into simple, durable technical solutions.
• Partner with Product, Design, Operations, Compliance, and external partners such as Plaid and Finicity.
• Make thoughtful technical trade‑offs to ship quickly while ensuring money‑movement reliability.
• Raise engineering standards through clear communication, strong system design, code quality, and mentorship.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience building production backend systems, APIs, or distributed services.
• Strong product judgment, customer curiosity, and comfort working through ambiguity.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and collaborate cross‑functionally.
• Experience in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments.
• Bias toward shipping, learning from users, and continuous improvement.
