Senior Software Engineer – Java Backend (Hybrid)

About the role

Daon is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its TrustX SaaS platform team. You will design, build and improve cloud‑based backend services that power identity verification, authentication and voice solutions. The role is hybrid, requiring at least two days per week in the Belgrade office.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java‑based backend services using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
• Implement REST APIs, service integrations and data processing pipelines supporting core platform capabilities.
• Collaborate with frontend, mobile, DevOps, architects and QA to deliver end‑to‑end features.
• Write unit, integration and automated tests and ensure code quality through reviews.
• Profile, optimize and monitor services for performance, scalability and reliability.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to accelerate coding.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience developing backend or full‑stack software, preferably in SaaS environments.
• Strong understanding of end‑to‑end system design, data flows and cloud‑native production behavior.
• Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
