Senior Systems Engineer - Data and Integrations

About the role

Fivetran is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies. We’re looking for a Systems Engineer, Data and Integrations to join our Systems Engineering team, own the data that runs Fivetran’s business, and design how data should be structured to support sales, billing, and customer operations.

Key responsibilities

• Learn and document the data models behind Fivetran’s core systems and map business concepts to data.
• Design target data models and field mappings for data consolidation or migration projects.
• Build, test, and execute SQL and Python transformations that reshape and load business data, including bulk migrations and ongoing pipelines.
• Define and enforce standards for data quality, modeling, and governance across internal systems.
• Develop monitoring, alerting, and data‑quality checks to ensure freshness and accuracy of data.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering with a focus on modeling and transforming business data.
• Strong SQL proficiency, including complex transformations and data reconciliation.
• Proficiency in a general‑purpose programming language (Python or Typescript).
• Working knowledge of business applications such as Salesforce, Netsuite, Coupa, Workday, and Zendesk.
• Experience with ETL/ELT development and data‑quality testing.
