Software Engineering Manager

About the role

CACI's Electronic Warfare (EW) division is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to oversee and grow a software team in Belgrade, Serbia, supporting mission-critical counter uncrewed systems (CUxS) capabilities. The manager coordinates engineering execution across several programs, ensures consistent and productized software integrations such as camera and radar systems, and keeps a shared software baseline and common software services. The role provides structured guidance, mentorship and day-to-day management so engineers deliver high-quality, scalable backend services aligned with program objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Work with cross-discipline teams to develop software that fits an evolving system architecture, integrating cleanly and flagging where architectural updates are needed.
• Learn hardware and software interfaces to support cross-program software integration.
• Build relationships across the CACI EW engineering matrix and program management organization to run full software lifecycles.
• Build, test and maintain backend software services, and support software designs and improvements with technical leadership.
• Support business-readiness activities such as product testing, rollout, iteration and support.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or an equivalent field.
• At least seven years of software development.
• At least two years managing software engineers or acting as technical lead for a software engineering team.
• Background building backend microservice applications.
• Experience supporting mission-essential systems with high-uptime requirements.

Required skills

• Familiarity with full-stack web development technologies.
• Microservices, containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, security principles, object-oriented design and CI/CD pipelines.
• Agile methodologies and work estimation.
• Desired: hands-on RF hardware, imaging hardware, complex hardware-software integrations, AI coding tools and computer vision classifiers.
