UX Researcher

About the role

Altium, a part of the Renesas Group, is looking for a UX Researcher to shape end-to-end experiences across its cloud platform Altium 365. The role keeps product decisions connected to real users: running conversations, testing ideas before they are built, and keeping research findings findable. It is a hands-on position with a lot of autonomy, working closely with designers, product managers and engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Talk to users regularly and own the participant pipeline: recruiting, screening, scheduling, incentives and consent
• Run interviews, contextual inquiries, diary studies and surveys, and build a steady cadence of user contact
• Partner with designers and PMs to turn open questions into research questions, and run usability and concept tests on wireframes, prototypes and live features
• Choose the right method for each decision, including quick, scrappy studies when speed matters
• Deliver findings that state what to change and the trade-offs involved
• Build and maintain a searchable insights repository, tagged by product area, user segment and theme, and connect new findings to old ones
• Track which insights led to which decisions and revisit assumptions that have not held up
• Raise the team's research literacy by coaching designers and PMs to run their own lightweight studies
• Share findings through short readouts, highlight reels and workshops, and push back when decisions rely on opinion

Required profile

• 3+ years in UX/product research or a closely adjacent role with substantial hands-on research work
• Solid command of qualitative methods and enough quantitative literacy to design a survey and interpret product analytics
• Experience testing prototypes at different fidelities
• Clear communication, able to explain findings to a skeptical stakeholder quickly
• Comfort working in ambiguity and scoping research to fit real timelines
• Professional level of English

Required skills

• Familiarity with research operations tooling such as Dovetail, Condens, Maze or UserTesting
• Nice to have: experience setting up an insights repository from scratch, background in engineering or PCB design, and basic familiarity with Figma
