AI Project Manager – Hybrid (Novi Sad/Belgrade)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead AI‑focused initiatives for a global consulting firm. The role will coordinate cross‑functional teams to deliver Generative AI, Machine Learning, automation and data‑driven solutions from concept through production, working in a hybrid model from Novi Sad or Belgrade.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate cross‑functional delivery teams for AI, Generative AI, Machine Learning, automation and technology transformation projects.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations and stakeholder relationships throughout delivery.
• Collaborate with architects, AI engineers and business stakeholders to define scope, objectives, timelines, resources, dependencies, risks and success metrics.
• Develop and maintain project plans, governance artifacts, RAID logs, action trackers, status reports and executive‑level communications.
• Support the full AI lifecycle including discovery, data readiness, model development, testing, deployment, monitoring, retraining and operationalisation.
• Facilitate architectural discussions, roadmap planning and alignment of business objectives with technical requirements.
• Drive adoption of Agile, Scrum, DevOps and continuous‑improvement best practices.
• Track and manage project health – scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, issues and business outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with Responsible AI, privacy, security, regulatory and governance requirements.
• Coordinate collaboration across business, technology, data, architecture, vendor and operational teams.
• Identify and mitigate risks, resolve delivery challenges and ensure smooth transition of AI solutions into production and business‑as‑usual operations.
• Monitor and report on business benefits such as productivity improvements, efficiency gains, cost optimisation, user adoption and value realization.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing complex AI‑oriented projects from inception to production.
• Strong client‑facing skills with the ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships.
• Deep understanding of the AI/ML lifecycle, data readiness and model operationalisation.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities to lead cross‑functional teams and deliver executive‑level updates.
• Knowledge of governance, Responsible AI, privacy, security and regulatory considerations.
