Analytics Engineer – Payments & Finance Data

About the role

Simple Life is seeking an Analytics Engineer to own the finance data domain. You will bring together data from multiple sources, improve its quality, run reconciliations, and ensure our financial models remain reliable and trustworthy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance data products for the finance team, including reports, alerts, and automations.
• Build financial data models in Pigment using Python, Snowflake, Airflow, and dbt.
• Implement continuous monitoring for data freshness, completeness, quality, and reconciliation breaks.
• Investigate data incidents, resolve issues, and communicate findings to finance leadership.
• Design LLM‑based agents to accelerate analysis, documentation, and automation across the finance data stack.

Required profile

• Enjoys autonomy and solving complex, messy data problems.
• Finds satisfaction in tying out reconciliations and defending numbers to stakeholders.
• Has commercial experience with real‑world financial or payments data.
• Comfortable designing systems that handle duplicated, delayed, or inconsistent input.

Required skills

• Strong Python programming.
• Advanced SQL proficiency.
• Experience with Snowflake, Airflow, and dbt.
• Familiarity with Pigment for financial modeling.
