Assistant Category Manager – All Categories

About the role

The Assistant Category Manager supports the Category Manager in daily operational tasks across all product categories. You will keep assortments and master data up‑to‑date, prepare analyses and decision templates, and coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure smooth product introductions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update assortments (new items, delistings, replacements) and assist in assortment reviews.
• Collect, structure and compare supplier and product information for selection meetings.
• Coordinate operational follow‑ups with Category Manager, Strategic Purchasing Managers and Sourcing Offices, handling requests, deadlines and documentation.
• Prepare regular reports and basic analyses on pricing, competitors, sales trends and cost drivers.
• Organise supplier meetings and sourcing trips, including agendas, minutes, sample handling and action tracking.
• Maintain article and supplier master data in SAP and Excel, ensuring data quality.
• Support internal coordination with Marketing, Logistics and Quality Management for product onboarding, campaigns and availability.
• Assist merchandising and promotional execution, tracking seasonal updates and campaign results.

Required profile

• University degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain or a related field, or comparable practical experience.
• 0–2+ years of experience in purchasing, category support, merchandising, retail or a similar commercial/analytical role.
• Strong analytical skills with confidence working with numbers and structured data.
• Hands‑on, reliable work style with attention to detail and good coordination abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Experience with SAP.
