Automation Engineer in Maintenance

About the role

You will join a highly skilled maintenance and automation team that ensures the reliability and continuous improvement of production equipment. The role focuses on diagnosing automation failures, developing PLC programs, and supporting the introduction of new technologies in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose equipment and automation failures to minimise production downtime.
• Develop, modify and optimise PLC programs using Siemens TIA Portal / Step7; knowledge of Beckhoff TwinCAT is a plus.
• Integrate new functionalities into existing automation systems and ensure reliable machine‑to‑machine communication.
• Support visual inspection systems and production line control solutions.
• Participate in commissioning of new equipment together with engineering teams.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives such as TPM, FMEA and process optimisation.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, support SAP entries and assist with internal audits.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation or a related field (VI–VII level).
• At least 2 years of experience in a production or process‑oriented environment; automotive experience is advantageous.
• Strong troubleshooting ability and an analytical, structured approach to problem solving.
• Proficiency in English.
