About the role
Wärtsilä is seeking a C++ Software Engineer to develop and enhance Vessel Traffic System (VTS) products. The role is based primarily in Belgrade, Serbia, with hybrid work options.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and implement new VTS features and modules.
- Maintain and improve a large code base (~1 M LOC) and ensure performance optimisation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve defects, conduct code reviews and collaborate with the Marine Traffic Control team.
- Transfer knowledge to team members and document solutions in the internal Knowledge Database.
Required profile
- Strong experience developing and maintaining complex software systems with large code bases.
- Deep knowledge of modern C++ (C++20) and familiarity with Boost and Qt libraries.
- Understanding of database fundamentals and experience with MS SQL.
- Experience with Windows API development, including MFC and DCOM.
- Additional experience in CCTV or maritime domains (chart systems, IALA standards) is a plus.
