Chief Accountant

About the role

Publicis Re:Sources is looking for a senior GL & Reporting Accountant to take full ownership of the General Ledger, statutory reporting and tax compliance for its Serbian operations. You will work in a multinational environment, ensuring that all local accounting and tax requirements are met while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the General Ledger with accuracy, completeness and integrity.
• Oversee compliance with Serbian direct and indirect tax regulations (VAT, corporate income tax, withholding tax).
• Coordinate and review statutory financial statements in line with Serbian Accounting Law.
• Ensure timely monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities.
• Lead balance‑sheet reconciliations and review trial balances and P&L accounts.
• Serve as primary contact for external auditors, tax authorities and regulatory bodies.
• Support transfer‑pricing compliance and prepare related documentation.
• Collaborate with regional and global finance teams to align local and group reporting.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis and reports for management.
• Identify and implement process improvements, standardisation and automation.
• Maintain internal controls and support internal/external audits.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) preferred.
• Extensive experience in general ledger management, statutory reporting and tax compliance.
• In‑depth knowledge of Serbian accounting regulations and tax law.
• Proven ability to work autonomously in a multinational setting.
