Development Lab Administrator

About the role

BlueCat is looking for a Development Lab Administrator to build and manage virtual lab environments that enable hands‑on testing of its network‑operations products. The role blends technical expertise with customer‑service skills to translate stakeholder requirements into functional lab setups.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define requirements and deliver working lab environments.
• Deploy virtual machines to create diverse network topologies and scenarios.
• Perform software installations, activations, and configurations.
• Apply software patches and upgrades to keep environments current.
• Develop strategies to improve simulation of real‑world conditions.
• Work with product leaders to document testing needs and formulate test plans.
• Execute detailed product‑level feature, capability, and functional testing and report results.
• Partner with product management and other teams on additional lab, software, and business activities as needed.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in a technical role such as IT support, customer support engineering, DevOps, or product management.
• Experience operating VMware and configuring Windows and Linux systems.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, routing, VLANs, packet capture, DNS and DHCP.
• Technical degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Computer Science, Cisco, VMware).
• Willingness to collaborate across global time zones and cultures.
• Effective research skills and ability to leverage AI for data collection.
• Ability to provide writing samples that clearly communicate complex technical concepts.
