Direct Purchasing Intern

About the role

As a Direct Purchasing Intern you will join the procurement team at MTU Maintenance Serbia, supporting the end‑to‑end purchasing process for aerospace components. This 12‑month full‑time internship offers hands‑on experience with SAP, supplier communication and data analysis in a global aviation environment.

Key responsibilities

• Create and track purchase orders and requisitions in SAP.
• Communicate with suppliers to monitor delivery status and gather required documentation.
• Assist with inventory monitoring, material planning and basic data analysis.
• Maintain material, supplier and pricing master data in SAP.
• Support supplier approval processes and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Prepare basic reports and update key performance indicators.
• Participate in process‑improvement initiatives, meetings, workshops and projects.
• Provide general administrative and operational support to the Direct Purchasing team.

Required profile

• Final‑year Bachelor’s or Master’s student in Economics, Organisational Sciences or a related field.
• Strong analytical and structured approach to work.
• Good organisational, time‑management and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Motivation to learn and develop in purchasing and supply‑chain functions.
• Conversational level of English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with SAP (or willingness to learn).
