Executive Director/VP Medical Science & Strategy – Oncology

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an Executive Director/Vice President to lead its Medical Science & Strategy team for Oncology. The role is based in the EMEA region with travel to China and will drive strategic and measurable business outcomes across the PPD clinical research business.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality input for RFPs, including development strategy, regulatory issues, drug class considerations, protocol design, safety, and team education.
• Engage proactively with clients and therapeutic area leaders, develop strategic alliances, and support client governance and advisory boards.
• Deliver industry‑leading product development plans and design clinical trial protocols through PPD’s consulting practice.
• Offer therapeutic and developmental expertise to internal teams, including indication‑specific training, guidance during trial execution, authoring regulatory documents, and mentoring clinical scientists.

Required profile

• MD or equivalent with board certification in Oncology and at least 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience leading clinical development of a product from discovery through registration.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and Mandarin; active medical license preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix organization, influence and motivate cross‑functional teams, and handle confidential matters.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
