Hardware Electronics R&D Engineer

About the role

Quectel Wireless Solutions is expanding its R&D centre in Belgrade and seeks a motivated Hardware Electronics R&D Engineer. You will work on the design, development and support of cellular, Wi‑Fi, GNSS and antenna modules for global IoT applications.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for cellular, Wi‑Fi, GNSS and antenna product families across the EMEA region.
• Lead PCBA/ODM development: requirement analysis, solution design, schematic capture, PCB layout, stack‑up, placement, routing, SI/PI, EMC/ESD, thermal, DFM/DFT.
• Select components, create BOMs, debug prototypes, verify tests and introduce designs to mass production.
• Collaborate with RF, software, test, quality, certification, supply‑chain and project‑management teams.
• Assess customer hardware systems and produce proposals including block diagrams, component options, interfaces, power, clock, storage and communications.
• Support pre‑sales technical exchanges, design‑in activities and project bidding.
• Handle complex customer escalations, mentor junior engineers, participate in design reviews and produce issue analysis reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of hardware development experience.
• Proven ability to design schematics and PCBs for high‑speed and power‑dense applications.
• Strong project leadership and cross‑functional coordination skills.
• Fluent English with the ability to communicate technical concepts independently.
• Preferred experience with Quectel modules, automotive or industrial electronics, functional safety and certification processes.
